Important News from the Council of Governors for Multiple District 22

Resolution to Authorize Allocation of Unencumbered General Administrative Funds In Support of the 2027 Lions International Convention Volunteers

Whereas the Council of Governors of Multiple District 22 is empowered and obligated to provide oversight and financial management of Multiple District funds in accordance with the Multiple District Constitution and By-Laws; and

Whereas, the 2027 Lions International Convention will be held in Washington, D.C., within the geographic boundaries of Multiple District 22, creating a unique opportunity and responsibility for the Lions of Multiple District 22 to support the success of this global event; and

Whereas the successful planning, promotion, and execution of the 2027 Lions International Convention will depend heavily upon the recruitment, training, coordination, and support of volunteers from throughout Multiple District 22; and

Whereas, the MD22 Lions 2027 Convention Foundation has been established to maintain funds for use by the 2027 Host Committee in support planning, promotion, and volunteer coordination efforts related to the 2027 Lions International Convention; and

Whereas, at a properly called meeting of the Multiple District 22 Council of Governors, the Council voted to authorize the presentation of this resolution to the delegates of the May 2026 Multiple District 22 Convention for consideration; and

Whereas the requirements of the Multiple District Constitution and By-Laws governing notice, review, and approval of financial allocations have been met; and

Whereas the delegates to the 2026 Multiple District 22 Convention, by a majority vote of those voting at the Sub-District business meetings, are being asked to authorize the following action:

Be it Resolved:

That the delegates of the 2026 Multiple District 22 Convention hereby authorize the Council of Governors to transfer Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) from unencumbered funds within the Multiple District 22 General Administrative Fund to the MD22 Lions 2027 Convention Foundation to support convention host operations, including volunteer support and reimbursement, volunteer apparel/identification, transportation support, and other approved management and logistical needs required for successful convention execution.

Be it Further Resolved:

That these funds shall be used with the understanding that an excess of $50,000 would be spent on volunteer operations; for purposes related to the planning, promotion, volunteer recruitment, training, coordination, and logistical support necessary to assist volunteers supporting the 2027 Lions International Convention in Washington, D.C.
