What is the Charitable Foundation?
The Lions International District 22B Charitable Foundation, Inc. was established in 2000 and was granted Federal Income tax exemption under section 501(c)(3) of The Internal Revenue Code in 2004.
How is the Charitable Foundation Organized?
The Board of Directors is comprised of the District Governor, Vice-District Governor, Immediate Past District Governor and six (6) other Directors.The six (6) Directors - three (3) from the Honorary Committee of District 22-B and three (3) Lions members in good standing from the general membership of District 22-B.Each Director serves a three (3) year term.
Each year the District Governor shall appoint one (1) Director from the Honorary Committee and one (1) from the general membership Elections are held annually by the Board of Directors for President, Secretary and Treasurer at it's first meeting following the annual meeting of the members.
The Foundation is recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible.All donations received from Lions Clubs, Individuals and non-Lions are appreciated and will be used solely for the educational and charitable purposes of the Foundation.
Funding Level Guidelines
The Lions Charitable Foundation provides funds to Lions Clubs, groups of Lions Clubs or a Lions Zone to help fund service projects when extra money is needed. The foundation will provide up to 50% of the cost of a project provided that it includes Lions or Lions Clubs active involvement.
